I created this Web site to showcase my journalism — in print and online. I've worked in all sorts of outlets — citizen journalism blogs, community weeklies, metro dailies, wire services, international outlets.

And I'm always looking for my next challenge.

I've just returned home after serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Moldova, which is tucked in between Romania and the Ukraine. For more, check out my blog.

Pieces I'm Proud Of:

• Boots for Petru: In this blog post/video/photo array, I tell the story of delivering much-needed rain boots to children in Moldova. The Dallas Morning News published the piece in their opinion section.
  
• Tukwila residents rally against light-rail noise: A co-worker at the Seattle Times told me this article was my chance to "do some good" in the area. After publishing this story and video, transportation authorities had no choice but to stop ignoring complaints from residents.
• UN: Half the world soon to be in cities I wrote this as a correspondent for the Associated Press bureau in London. This story marked the first time I used my skills as a sociology major to delve into demographic info and emerge with a tangible, important story. It also marked one of the first times I had a story published through AP that required very little editing.

• Rowling Answers Fans' Final Questions This is probably the most read story I've ever written.
• Consumer Report: Birth Control - This article was my first on the Daily Dose, a blog about health issues for the ColumbiaMissourian.com. It's an example of how an alternative story form can aggregate information for readers the way a traditional print story can't.
• Non-Black students weigh in on Black Culture Center - This story mixed my two favorite things: culturally sensitive topics and deadline writing. The feedback from the MU community was very positive and encouraging.
